INSPIRED BY ORKNEY

I am an independent Orcadian jewellery maker with over 30 years’ experience and have a real passion for all things Orkney. These Islands have a rich tapestry of culture and history and have inspired many creative, talented people with everyone from artists and writers to poets and musicians.  I find the inspiration for my designs throughout my native Orkney – the skies with ever changing moods and light, the stormy and windswept, rocky coastlines, the rolling hills and beautiful skylines.

My passion is entirely hand making jewellery and then every part of the process from start to finish as inspiration springs into life. I feel such excitement as each design develops and consumes my thoughts when I draw, plan and make each piece.

MY JEWELLERY DESIGNS

Many of my designs are inspired by Orkney’s World Heritage sites and ancient monuments – the Ring of Brodgar, Ness of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness, Maeshowe and Skara Brae – truly magical places.

From Orkney’s Viking era I was inspired to create my Rose Window design from the majestic St Magnus Cathedral. My Westness brooch collection is pure Viking.

I hope my jewellery collections will delight customers and will be something special to treasure.
